Pascale Arpin

Pascale Arpin, b. 1987, is an Ottawa-based artist whose already illustrious career has been shaped by an early start working in the arts and over two decades of “learning on the job”. She has experience ranging from working in Film & Television as a scenic painter and set decorator, to years of illustration and graphic design work, including working closely with legendary film director Tim Burton to fabricate and paint pieces for his Lost Vegas art exhibition at the Neon Museum in Las Vegas in 2019. Eight years ago, Arpin turned her focus to traditional sign painting and began learning this craft under world-renowned American sign painter Mike Meyer. Her lettering work can be spotted all over Ottawa, garnering international recognition and features in several publications and exhibitions.

In 2020, Arpin started combining photorealistic oil painting with traditional hand-painted lettering. Arpin’s projects have received recognition and financial support from the Ontario Council for the Arts, the Ottawa Arts Council and the Canada Council for the Arts. Arpin is now looking forward to finally exhibiting the long-awaited works she has been slowly creating over the last five years.
