De Montigny Contemporary (DMC) is pleased to announce that it is now collaborating with collectors to reintroduce significant works from private collections to the secondary market. This new initiative marks a major expansion in the gallery’s commitment to long-term stewardship and value-building for contemporary art.

“This step allows us to further support the lifecycle of the artworks we care about,” says Brendan de Montigny, Director of DMC. “Whether you're refining your collection, transitioning a legacy, or re-engaging with the market, we’re here to ensure thoughtful, well-positioned placements.”
To launch this new offering, DMC is proud to present a suite of eight rare paintings by Colin Canary. These are the first works to be made available since their debut at Ab Next at The Robert McLaughlin Gallery (RMG) in Oshawa in 2017. These pieces were immediately acquired at the time of exhibition and have remained in private hands for nine years. Now, for the first time, they are returning to public view.
“This group of works captures a pivotal moment in Canary’s career,” says Brendan de Montigny, Director of DMC. “It’s an incredibly focused body of work that is meditative, rigorous, and visually arresting. We’re honoured to make them available again as we enter this new phase of service for our collectors.”
The gallery invites collectors, curators, and institutions to inquire about these works and future secondary market opportunities by contacting info@demontignycontemporary.com.
